Ancient Ayurvedic writings recommended it to treat various conditions affecting the intellect or the central nervous system: anxiety, impaired cognition or attention, depression, epileptic convulsions, neurological disorders, etc.
According to the Hindu conception, the brain is the center of creative activity. This is the reason why the Indians dedicated the Bacopa, which they also call Brahmi ... to Brahma, the mythical Creator of the Hindu pantheon, one of the 3 Supreme male deities of India.
